Use Of Dimethyl phthalate

Dimethyl phthalate can be dissolved with a variety of cellulose resins, rubber, vinyl resins, has good film formation, adhesion and water resistance. It is often used in combination with diethyl phthalate in the production of cellulose acetate films, varnishes, transparent paper and molding powder. A small amount is used in the manufacture of nitrocellulose. It can also be used as a plasticizer for nitrile gum. It can also be used as a solvent for mosquito repellent (crude oil), polyvinyl fluoride coatings, methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and DDT.
